About RackaRacka
From backyard chaos to Hollywood horror — the journey of Danny & Michael Philippou
Our Story — By RackaRacka
We were born on November 13, 1992, in Adelaide, South Australia — two loud Greek-Australian twins with too much energy and not enough sense to use it safely. From the very start, we were obsessed with chaos. Our backyard became a war zone: wrestling matches, fake fights, and ridiculous stunts filmed on cheap cameras. We didn't know it back then, but that was the beginning of RackaRacka.
As teenagers, we started dreaming bigger. We didn't want to just watch movies — we wanted to make them. In 2013, we launched our YouTube channel, RackaRacka, and decided to throw every bit of madness in our heads onto the internet. We mixed action, horror, comedy, and absolute stupidity, and somehow… people loved it.
Our videos — like Ronald McDonald vs. Mario and Star Wars vs. Harry Potter — blew up online. Millions of subscribers, billions of views, and a reputation for being the most chaotic creators on YouTube. But behind all the explosions and fake blood, we were learning real filmmaking — how to shoot, edit, direct, and tell stories that hit hard.
Then came the big dream: cinema. In 2022, we released our first feature film, Talk to Me — a horror movie born from our twisted imagination. It premiered at Sundance, blew critics away, and made over $90 million worldwide. For the first time, we weren't just "those crazy YouTubers." We were filmmakers.
Now we're diving deeper into the film world — but that chaotic RackaRacka spirit will never die. We'll always be about DIY creativity, raw energy, and making stuff that shocks, entertains, and maybe even scars you a little. From backyard chaos to the big screen — that's our story. And trust us… it's only just beginning.
